MYANMARESE ART IN DUBAI

Weekend Review spoke to Kyaw Thu Tun, co-founder of the gallery, who began to promote Myanmar art internationally from his base in Dubai from the first quarter of 2014.
“Our gallery was originally founded in late 2011 by a passionate art lover friend of mine, Ko Sid. Our gallery is a place where art lovers, collectors and visitors who have a passion for art must visit. Our aim was to promote and introduce a range of arts from Myanmar and its artists to a wider market within and beyond Asia,” says Thu Tun.
“We also seek to create opportunities for the artists by holding art shows locally and internationally in partnership with overseas galleries and collectors. I joined Myanmar Ink officially as a co-founder to promote the gallery internationally by coordinating all overseas art fairs in which Myanmar Ink will participate,” he says.
“We do not consider ourselves in the top ten list of galleries in Myanmar. However, with the passion we have, we are constantly striving to move forward.”
Myanmar Ink Art gallery has several collections, ranging from Modern contemporary, Realism, Impressionism, Expressionism to Abstract in different media to suit the tastes of art lovers. With more than over 36 artists and their more than 1,500 artworks, the gallery is located in Yangon, Myanmar.

THE MOST POWERFUL WOMEN IN THE ARAB WORLD 2015 FORBES MIDDLE EAST TO REVEAL THE TOP ARAB BUSINESSWOMEN AT AN EXCLUSIVE DUBAI EVENT

Forbes Middle East is getting ready to reveal its hotly anticipated ranking of the Most Powerful Arab Women with an exclusive gala dinner and awards ceremony at a stunning venue, The Oberoi in Dubai, UAE, on 16th September.
This is the third annual ranking of its kind, but with some important changes made for the first time for 2015. Whereas previously Forbes Middle East has presented a list of 200 powerful women in both government and business, this year there are three rankings to truly focus on the specific achievements of the nominees.
The 100 Most Powerful Businesswomen in the Arab World will celebrate those who have reached the very top of their game as executives, heads of family businesses, or founders. The 10 Most Powerful Arab Women in Government will recognize those that are accomplishing great things in that particular and challenging field. And the 10 Most Powerful Arab Women in the World will look beyond Middle Eastern borders and acknowledge the Arab women making their mark internationally.
The awards ceremony commends these inspirational women as leaders, entrepreneurs and ground breakers. Winners are judged by the size of their company, the position they have reached, and the overall impact they have had.
Mrs. Khuloud Al Omian, Editor-in-Chief, Forbes Middle East, said: “We at Forbes Middle East are very proud to once again welcome the Arab world’s most successful and outstanding women to an exciting and unique event held in their honor. We look forward to revealing the winners, but most importantly to celebrating all the women that are making their mark in the business world in the Middle East – they are paving the way for future generations to come.”
